Who is Welcome?

  • We want you to know that those of different skin colors and heritages are welcome here.

  • We want you to know that those who suffer from addiction to drugs and alcohol (whether they are recovering or not) and their families are welcome here.

  • We want you to know that gays, lesbians, and members of their families are welcome here.

  • We want you to know that you can bring children to worship and, even if they cry during the entire service, they are welcome because kids matter here.

  • We want you to know that those who are single by choice, by divorce, or through the death of

       a spouse are welcome here.

  • We want you to know that women and children are welcome here and that they will not be harassed or abused.

  • We want you to know that gossips, cheats, liars, and their families are welcome here.

  • We want you to know that we take seriously the apostle Paul's statement "all of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory." (Romans 3:23)

  • We offer welcome here because we believe that "God showed how much he truly loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful." (Romans 5:8)

Christ did not die for us after we showed signs of "getting it all together,"

Christ loved us and still loves us while we are yet sinners.

  • Sinners are welcome here, sinners like you and us and our neighbors.

We believe we are not called to be perfect (which we can't be).

We believe we are called to be a light of home shining in a broken world

You are welcome here as we experience God's grace together.

We believe that all persons are beloved children of God and that life itself carries the dignity and beauty of God's creation. There is a place within the fellowship and mission of this congregation for all persons because each has been claimed by God forever. Recognizing and affirming our differences is a celebration of God's wondrous creativity and unbounded love.

This church trusts in God's mercy, grace, and forgiveness, and in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ, no person is or shall be excluded from the sacramental ministry, witness, mission, service, or care of this congregation for any reason.
